SAF’s Technology White Paper

Rants and Kudos No Comments »

I work with Renato Cruz Sogueco, CIO of the Society of American Florists, on the ASAE Technology Section Council. At a recent section meeting, Renato alluded to a white paper that SAF has produced for the past couple of years, which highlights technology in the floral industry, and places the technologies into three categories: the bus has left, the bus is here, and the bus is coming. You can see all the details on SAF’s blog.

The point of the white paper is to help SAF’s members understand where they should be with technology. Which technology is cutting edge, which is passe, and which is bleeding edge.

Not only is it a very useful service to provide to the members, but it’s a really simple but powerful way to demonstrate which technologies you should have now versus which of those you can probably wait on.

I suspect this same list could be applied to the association market and it probably wouldn’t change too radically. Take a look at the list and see how your association measures up.
